A 7-DAY DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR NEW CONVERT CLASS

The Nature of God

Gen.1:1-3, 26-29, Deut.6:5, John.4:24

God is the originator of both seen and unseen things in the world and beyond. As read in Gen.1, God created you and me in His image so that we conform to Him. God is a Spirit. His eyes are everywhere beholding the evil and the good, Prov 15:3. God is not a man that He should lie, Num 23:19. In Psalm 85:10 there are four attributes of God that bring salvation to men who fear Him. They are Mercy, Truth, Righteousness and Peace. God is full of compassion, grace, long suffering and plenteous in mercy and truth, Psalm.86:15. It is the grace and mercy of God that forgives us of all sin and gives us peace.

PRAYER: Father, may I know you more than I do now. Amen.

God gave life to man.

Gen.1:26-29, 2:7 Gen.1:31

God is the giver of life. No one lives on his/her own. It is God`s breath in us that causes us to live. No one creates something he/she doesn`t like. As in Gen 1: 31 God looked over all that He had made including us and it was very good. The one who created you loves you. , He cares for you. If not so He would have killed you right in your mother’s womb. Don’t be like those the Bible refers to as “FOOLS SAY IN THEIR HEARTS THAT THERE NO GOD”,Ps.14:1, Ps.53:1. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth…Eccl.12:1.

PRAYER: God help me to always acknowledge you. Amen.

The Attributes Of God

John 4:24,Tim 1:17, 1Kings 8:27, Ps 85:10, 1Pet 1:16, 1John 4:8, Psalm 102:27.

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible and only God be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.” 1Tim 1:17. God is eternal and His attributes are infinite. Paul said in Corinthians that we see only in parts and we know in parts .In fact we can`t know all about God but let us take note of the following attributes of God. God is a spirit being, He is invisible, immortal, eternal, infinite, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and immutable, Ps 102:27, God is truthful, perfect, loving, and righteous and has created us in His image

PRAYER: I want to be more of like you.AMEN.

The Question of Salvation.

Gen 6:6, Isaiah 53:6, Isaiah 59:2, Rom 1:28

When man fell and He had to send Christ, it was simply the fulfillment of the plan. But when the time has fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Gal 4:4-5. Man sinned and rejected God. Man took his own way and nothing good came out of it, sufferings and cursing was the result. But thanks be to God that due to His loving kindness He sent His son Jesus Christ that through Him all might be saved. Repent therefore for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt3:2

PRAYER: Open my eyes to behold your salvation. Amen

Divine Connection

Rom 5:8, 1 Peter 2:24, John 1:12, Acts 10:43, Rom 8:1, 1 John 5:12

Christ said, if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me. He also said I am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me. That is the divine connection we have.” As free as salvation is there is what you must do to be saved” (Prophet Bernald Nelson Eshun). You are divinely connected when you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from dead, Rom 10:9. To keep this divine connection you must spend time in God’s presence, pray regularly and personally.

PRAYER: Father keep me connected to you always. Amen

Conformity with Christ

Rom 12:1-2, 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 5:22-23, James 1:22, Psalms 119:105

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable sacrifice. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God, Rom 12:1-2. Conform to Christ, you are now a new creation, old things have passed away. When a baby is learning to walk it falls down often but it gets up to try again and again, until it can walk. It is like that when a new Christian is learning to walk in God’s way. Don’t give up when the devil trick you to fall into sin. When you meet sin don’t walk in it, when you fall into sin don’t lie in it.

PRAYER: Strengthen me, O Lord. Amen

Continue in the new road found

Psalms 1:1-5, Prov 13:20, Luke 9:62

“And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand in the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God”, Luke 9:62. Hold on to your faith, your confession all the days of your life. The association you keep determines who you are. Come out from among them that are not from God. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. He that walks with the wise shall be wise, Prov 13:20. Bad company corrupts good manners. Don’t look back on the new road you have found. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it. Matt 7:14

PRAYER: Lord may I never sway from the right path. Amen
